Privacy Policy — MobileAI

Last updated: 2026-10-16

MobileAI is an Android app that runs an AI language model entirely on your phone. It has no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics. Your questions and the model's answers are processed on the phone and are not sent to us or to any AI service. This policy covers the app only; the website has its own privacy policy.

What We Collect

Only reports you choose to send. If you long-press an answer, tap Report response, then Send, the app sends:

  • the text of that one answer,
  • the reason you picked and the note you typed, if any,
  • the name of the model that wrote it.

Nothing else from your chat is included: not your question, not other messages, and no information about you or your phone. Reports are sent over HTTPS to a Google Form owned by the developer and stored in Google Forms, which acts as our service provider. They are used only to find and fix harmful or wrong answers, and are not sold or shared. To have a report you sent deleted, write to the address below and describe it; reports carry no name or identifier we could look it up by.

What the App Stores on Your Phone

The following stays in the app's private storage on your phone. No copy is sent anywhere:

  • Your chats — questions and answers, so you can read or continue them later.
  • AI models — the model files you downloaded, and which one is in use.
  • Open chat — which chat was open, so it reopens after the app is closed.
  • Your apps — apps you added on the Apps screen, and names you gave them.
  • Voice settings — speech speed, language detection and chosen voices.

Chats can be deleted one at a time from History. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes all of it.

What the App Sends, and Where

  • Model downloads — when you download a model, the app fetches the file from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). As with any download, Hugging Face sees your IP address and the file requested, under its own privacy policy. Nothing about you or your chats is sent. Just before a download, the app also fetches a short list of download locations from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com), so a model can still be downloaded if it moves. As with any download, GitHub sees your IP address, under its own privacy policy; nothing about you is sent, and we don't receive it.
  • Reports — only when you send one, as described above.

Once a model is downloaded, chatting works with no internet connection. When you ask the assistant to open another app — for example to search YouTube, start navigation or dial a number — the request is handed to that app, and what happens there is covered by that app's own policy.

Permissions

Each is requested the first time a feature needs it and used only when you ask for that feature. Everything they give access to is processed on the phone and never sent to us or anyone else.

  • Microphone — to turn what you say into text. Speech recognition is requested in on-device mode; audio is not recorded or kept.
  • Contacts — to find the number when you say “call <name>”. The call goes through your phone's dialer, which you confirm.
  • Calendar — to read today's events when you ask for them. New events you ask for are added through your calendar app.
  • Notification access (optional, turned on in system settings) — to control music and video that is playing, and to summarize the notifications currently on screen when you ask. Notifications are read at that moment only; they are not stored or logged.
  • Alarms — to set a timer or alarm in your clock app.
  • Internet — for model downloads and reports, above.

AI-Generated Content

Answers are generated by a small language model running on your phone. They can be wrong, out of date or inappropriate. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.

Children

The app is not directed at children and is intended for adults.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version appears at this address with a new date above.
